| Turkey
Trot |
The
USAG Brussels Fitness Center will be hosting the annual
fall "Turkey Trot" on Saturday, 21 November. There
will be 2K, 5K and 10K routes and prizes will be awarded
to the first and second place finishers in each category.

| Knitting
Class |
By
popular demand, the USAG Brussels Arts & Crafts Center
is again pleased to offer the beginner's knitting
class starting on Thursday, 19 November from
1000 until approximately noon. There will be three other
notional 2-hour long sessions, each beginning on succeeding
Thursdays (3, 10, 17 Dec) at the same hour. By "notional,"
12:00 is the scheduled end of each class, however, the Arts
Center Director has indicated that no beginning knitter
should feel stressed about being kicked out at that precise
hour. Cost is a modest USD $25 and includes yarn and knitting
needles. To sign up, stop by the Center located in Building
#1 of the USAG Brussels (same building as the MP Station-on

| Get
in the Holiday Spirit |
Enjoy
the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and holiday festivities
at USAG Brussels on Friday, 4 December. There will be a
holiday market from 1200-1830 where you can purchase gift
items and stocking stuffers from numerous outside vendors.
Santa and his helpers will be in the 3 Star Lounge from
1530-1800 and will offer a range of holiday activities for
the youngsters. Following these activities, is the Tree
Lighting Ceremony. |

You Know... |
USAG
Brussels has two racquetball courts available for community
use, 7 days a week from 0700-2200 (with some exceptions).
The courts are located at the Sterrebeek Annex near the
Brussels Health Clinic. The key for the courts can be checked
out at the gate guard station. Racquetball is great exercise
and is an excellent stress reliever. If you don't know anyone
that plays, the USAG Brussels Fitness Center can help you
find other racquetball players. Just give them a call at
02 717-9652 or 9667. Don't let these free facilities go
to waste. Dust off your racquet and join your friends for
a competitive game of racquetball. |

ensure your holiday cards and packages reach the U.S. before
25 December, please see the recommended mailing times below.
Please also note the USAG Brussels Post Office will have
expanded holiday operating hours. From 16 November-2 January
(excluding US holidays), the package pick-up window will
be open 0700-1800. From 16 November-23 December (excluding
Thanksgiving), the finance window will be open from 0830-1730
for postal transactions and mailing parcels.

| Metro
Madness |
The
easiest way to travel around Brussels without worrying about
traffic and parking is to use the Brussels public transportation
system. The ACS sponsored Metro Madness class, followed
by an exploratory trip, will help get you acquainted with
using the bus, tram and metro. The next class is Monday,
23 November from 0930-1430. Space is limited so call 02

Shop Hours |
The
Barber Shop at USAG Brussels is now open Tuesdays through
Fridays from 1000-1700 and every Saturday from 1000-1600.
Walk-ins, appointments and ladies' hair services are also

Care |
Did
you know that veterinary services (space available basis)
are available at the Chievres Air Base at Daumerie Caserne
for privately owned pets of uniformed service members, DoD
civilians, DoDEA school teachers and certain DoD contractors?
Space-available preventative care for pets includes vaccinations,
parasite control measures and the provision of recognized
health certificates. The clinic is open Mondays through
Wednesdays from 0800-1700 and on Fridays from 0800-1600.

Shop |
The Consignment Shop is located at USAG Brussels on the
top floor of Bldg 1 (same bldg as the 3-Star Lounge). The
shop is open from 1100-1430 on Tuesdays and Fridays, as
well as the second Saturday of each month. The shop is also
open on Wednesdays from 1100-1600. We've got everything
to help newcomers settle in. The shop is filled to the brim
with transformers, 220 appliances, dishes, bedding, toys
and more. Come on in and check out the great bargains! We're
also looking for a few volunteers. If you have a free day,
week or month, please consider donating a few hours of your

Fitness Center Classes |
| The
"Strong Women" Fitness Program (strength training
for middle-aged and older women) is held on Tuesdays and
Thursdays from 1215-1300. Spin
class is available on Mondays and Thursdays from 1800-1900.
Step aerobics is offered Wednesdays and Fridays from 1800-1900.
Yoga is also available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
from 1000-1100. We've also got Body
Pump classes on Tuesdays from 1800-1900 and Saturdays from
0930-1030.

Food Court Hours |
In
response to community feedback from a recent Town Hall
meeting, the AAFES Food Court concession at USAG Brussels
is extending their Friday hours to 1800 for a trial period
over the next three Fridays (20 Nov, 27 Nov, 4 Dec). The
sales results will determine whether the Food Court will
continue the extended hours. |

| Racquetball
Tournament |
The
USAG Brussels Fitness Center is sponsoring its 2009 Racquetball
Open 21-22 November from 0900-1800 at BAS. Categories
include Men's Open, Men's B, Men's C, Seniors (35+), Masters
(40+), Women's B and C, Doubles and Consolation (if time
permits). Prizes will be awarded to first and second place
finishers in each category and each participant will receive
a free t-shirt. Sign up deadline is 17 November - draws
and starting times will be sent 18 November. For questions

and IACS Services |
ID-card
(CAC) services, including DEERS updates, dependent ID
cards, and retiree ration cards, are available at USAG
Brussels Monday-Friday from 0900-1300 and from 1330-1730.
Venue is the second floor of Bldg 4 (above the library)

USAG Brussels IACS office, located in the same office
space, is now open Monday-Friday from 0900-1400 and 1430-1730.

Due to funding constraints, the USAG Brussels Education

The USAG Brussels Adult Volleyball League begins 5 October.
Games will be played on Mondays and Wednesdays at 1900,

Central Registration
is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
from 0930-1700 and Wednesdays from 1400-1700.
Registration for SAS and Middle School/Teen
after school programs is ongoing. For

Effective immediately all annual registrations
with CYSS are free! This presents a savings
of $40 per family, per year. In order to take
advantage of our programs, bring a copy of your
vaccination record, a current physical, 2 emergency
contact numbers and we do the rest. Programs
are open to all children and youth in the Brussels
community with access to the military installation.
The CYS Central Registration Office is located
at USAG Brussels, building 3 (ground floor).
The Child Development Center offers hourly care
from 0900-1500 Monday through Friday for children
6 weeks to 6 years old. Reserve a space in advance
by calling 02 717-9651 (up to 30 days in advance).
Full day child care is also available through
a local Belgian child care center. Call 02 717-9680

YS Sports
|
|
Youth
Services offers many great sports for your children
to participate in including basketball, flag
football, soccer, softball, baseball and wrestling.
Registration
is open for the CYSS Youth Sports and Fitness
winter sports season. Basketball is available
for youth ages 6-15, with a registration fee
of $46. Wrestling is available for youth ages
6-15, with a registration fee of $36. Volunteer
coaches are needed to support this program.
Not only do you get to spend quality time with
your child, but your first child plays for FREE,
and the second is half price! No experience
is necessary--we will train you. Practices for
all winter sports will begin the first week
of December, with games to begin in January.
